Two People Injured in San Diego Wrong Way Crash

April 19, 2012 – According to reports, two people were injured in a wrong way crash in San Diego. According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred in the westbound lanes of State Route 56, Thursday afternoon. The head-on collision occurred on SR 56 in the vicinity of Camino Del Sur.
The California Highway Patrol said they began receiving reports that an Infinity G-35 was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of SR 56.

The woman driving the Infinity G-35 crashed head-on into a small SUV, shortly after they began receiving calls, CHP said. According to the California Highway Patrol the drivers of each of the vehicles were trapped and a doctor passing by the accident helped to stabilize the woman driving the small SUV and the woman driving the Infinity, until paramedics arrived.

The drivers were transported to area hospitals for treatment, their condition and types of injuries have not been released. California Highway Patrol officials said the San Diego accident remains under investigation and they are investigating if drugs or alcohol was a factor in the head-on crash.
