February 14, 2012 – According to reports a pedestrian in Westminster that was killed has been identified. According to Westminster Police Department Sgt. Cameron Knauerhaze said the accident occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. Monday in the southbound lanes of Springdale Street in the vicinity south of Westminster Boulevard.
According to Sgt. Knauerhaze there was a designated crosswalk approximately 75 yards from where the man was struck by a Toyota Camry and killed and it was not immediately clear if he was in a crosswalk or not at the time he was struck.
Sgt. Knauerhaze said that the driver remained at the scene of the accident and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
According to coroner’s officials the man that was struck and killed has been identified as Victor Drennen, age 50. Coroner’s officials said Drennen appeared to a transient.
